Juho Seppälä

I started my career as a mechanical designer in 2000. Initially, my job description included the mechanical design of paper machine after-treatment equipment and tractor driveline components.

In 2004, I co-founded Hefmec. At Hefmec, I have held a variety of positions and worked on day-to-day design work. Currently I am the chief designer. My job description includes design, strength calculation, organisation of subcontracting for manufacturing, supervision of junior designers and often one of them goes with me on customer visits. However, most of my time is still spent on design and developing different technical solutions.

I have designed and organised the manufacture of hundreds of tools for various industrial environments. I have been the lead designer on several machine and equipment design projects. These projects have also provided me with basic automation solutions, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical applications.

Much of my free time is spent playing sports, either as a spectator or coach in children’s activities or playing hockey myself.
